AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE – MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

Most autoimmune diseases have various trigger factors such as genetic, environmental, and immunological factors.
Stress and autoimmune disease

Physical and psychological stress has been implicated in the development of autoimmune disease. Studies explore the effect of stressors on immune function and their impact on major stress-related hormones and in the dysregulation of the immune system (as in multiple sclerosis) leading to pathogenesis of an autoimmune disease. Once the autoimmune disease is set, it also causes significant stress in patients, creating a vicious cycle. Moreover, in the case of multiple sclerosis and several other autoimmune diseases, chronic pain and fatigue may coexist.

Our role

PSYportrait will help you in stress management, which is very important in the case of an autoimmune disease in order to prevent stress-related immune imbalance. Stress reactions will be discussed, and triggering factors will also be explored. Training also includes management for chronic pain and fatigue. Contact us for a free first session and discussion of your psychological portrait.
