INSOMNIA

Sleep is a personal matter. Some people need more than 8 hours of sleep to feel rested while others need less.
Symptoms

Persistent sleep difficulties that leave you feeling constantly tired usually signal insomnia. The symptoms of insomnia is difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early for more than one month. Many things can cause insomnia, such as stress, important life events, work related stress and study stress. Ongoing sleep problems can affect physical and mental health, and overall quality of life. If you suffer from insomnia symptoms might be fatigue, problems with attention and concentration, difficulties performing work and headaches.

Our role

PSYportrait can help you identify and learn to manage the factors that contribute to insomnia. You might be asked to keep a sleep diary. With this information, we can determine the best course of action since treatment is tailored to each person. Unhelpful thoughts, worries, and beliefs about sleep, insomnia and its consequences can be identified, and helpful ways of looking at sleep and sleep problems are developed in collaboration with you.
